Principal's Message

Lake Fenton Community,

I am entering my 16th year in education.  Before coming to Lake Fenton, I taught Social Studies and coached boys and girls varsity basketball at Grand Blanc High School for ten years.  I then served as an assistant principal for three years before accepting the principal position in Lake Fenton.  My time in the classroom and in athletics has prepared me for this new opportunity at Lake Fenton High School.

I am a proud Oakland University graduate (Go Grizz!) and have received three degrees from this wonderful institution. I originally earned my bachelor’s degree in History and Speech before getting my master’s degree in Educational Studies (curriculum). I later pursued my Education Specialist in Leadership as I made the transition from the classroom to administration.

My 2 sons, Brady (12 years old) and Elijah (9 years old) are my pride and joy and I love nothing more than spending time with them. I have always believed that it is my responsibility to treat the students under my care the same way that I would treat my own. I believe students should always be loved, treated with respect, held to high standards and also held accountable when they make mistakes. If we do these things, we truly are preparing them for life after high school and living up to our mission of Learning For Continuous Success.

I love that in many ways, the high school is the place that the community comes together. In fact, I have yet to be at the high school and there not be an event going on. I absolutely loved my high school experience and a big part of that was being involved in so many extra-curricular activities—from soccer to basketball to baseball to band. I hope to foster this same love for the school experience in each of our students.

I am proud to be a Blue Devil and will continue to build that same pride in all of our students. I look forward to challenging our staff to push our school to new heights.
