ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

Lake Fenton Community Schools Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization formed by local residents dedicated to receiving and distributing grants to fund meaningful, innovative projects and scholarships that will benefit students and faculty at Lake Fenton Community Schools. The Foundation is governed by an independent board of trustees who serve without pay and work independently of the local school board.

The Foundation established a permanently endowed fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Flint in 2005. Only earnings from this endowment are available to fund projects and scholarships, so your contribution will last forever.

Financial support is awarded to projects that are not available through the school district’s operating budget. Your gift will be put to work for maximum benefit toward educational excellence.

In reporting on the results of the Read Naturally program purchased with grant funds the Torrey Hill Intermediate Academic Coaches stated: “ This program was a huge success this school year. ...based on two sets of data, we have seen significant gains in our students who worked with the grant-funded Read Naturally program this year.” The Read Naturally program targets reading fluency.
