This week students visited the library to participate in our new Makerspace Program. For the first cycle, students are trying a focus and relaxation exercise using Buddha Boards. This time allowed students to first draw their interpretation of a specific "focus" item and then stretch their imaginations to end with free drawing time.
For the remainder of this year and continuing next year, students will have an opportunity to explore several different Makerspace Labs, i.e. Legos, Magformers, k'nex and others.

📚Yesterday we had the author Jeffrey Chamberlain visit the first grade classrooms. His book is The Dog with the Crooked Tail. All students received a signed copy of the book. He started The Milo Project, which promotes self-confidence and uniqueness. He has a website and Facebook page. The website is www.miloproject.org. 📚

🤍A Lake Fenton High School Art Class and Mrs. Thompson's First Grade Class did an art project together for the Art Show last month. Today, our classes got together so the HS students could give the First Graders their finished product and they did a little art project together!
The first grade students drew a picture of a monster, a middle school art class turned it into a picture on the computer and then the high school students drew a picture of the monster and turned it into a stuffed animal for the littles!🤍
