📽️Mrs. Brigitha and a few students from Lake View TV headed to 103.9 The Fox today to take a behind the scenes tour with Lake Fenton alum, Jeremy Fenech. The students got to tour the production and air studio and learn some broadcasting basics. They even got to go live on the air! 💙🤍

This week students visited the library to participate in our new Makerspace Program. For the first cycle, students are trying a focus and relaxation exercise using Buddha Boards. This time allowed students to first draw their interpretation of a specific "focus" item and then stretch their imaginations to end with free drawing time.
For the remainder of this year and continuing next year, students will have an opportunity to explore several different Makerspace Labs, i.e. Legos, Magformers, k'nex and others.

🎭The theatre class and drama club had a great time going to see Fenton Village Players' production of Taming of the Shrew, starring Lake Fenton High School's own Mrs. Kondrat as Katherine, the shrew of the title. Lots of laughs and enjoyment all around. They loved the show and enjoyed the opportunity for a Q&A following the performance.

📚Yesterday we had the author Jeffrey Chamberlain visit the first grade classrooms. His book is The Dog with the Crooked Tail. All students received a signed copy of the book. He started The Milo Project, which promotes self-confidence and uniqueness. He has a website and Facebook page. The website is www.miloproject.org. 📚

The TH NEHS wrote positive, motivational sticky notes for every single kid in 5th grade. They wanted to boost testing confidence. The students loved finding the notes in the morning.

🏀 🏈🏐 3rd grader, Beau, was the PE teacher for the day on Friday! He was able to choose the lesson, explain the directions, create the teams, AND even play! He did a phenomenal job with Mrs. Pattison and had fun doing it, too. Thank you to Beau’s family for winning the auction at the Shamrock Gala ☘️ We appreciate you!

📚In To Kill a Mockingbird, Scout and Jem experience a snowfall for the first time in their lives. Though barely any snow comes down, they decide to make a snowman using the little accumulation there is….and a lot of dirt. Mrs. Kondrat’s Honors English 10 class broke into groups and was tasked with creating replicas of the Mr. Avery snowman using any materials they had around at home. They couldn’t assemble ahead of time, but were allowed to bring their own stuff. Some did, some didn’t—but they all got results. They had 30 minutes to make their creation.📚💙
